I am participating in a 52 week savings challenge on Swap-bot. For this challenge, the goal is to save an amount of money equal to the week of the year, so this week I'd save $1 and the last week of the year I would save $52. Another member of the challenge suggested writing out the numbers 1-52 and then crossing off whatever amount was saved each week (not necessarily doing them in order). This is the method I plan to use. At the end of the year I should have saved about $1,378. I'll drop smaller amounts in the trip jar we are using so we can save up enough to go back to TN this summer. Larger amounts will go into our savings account at the bank to build our mini emergency fund. It should be a fun challenge. I'll post regular updates on my progress here. Feel free to jump in and add to the conversation. What savings goals are you reaching for this year?
sounds interesting. I logged into swap-bot for the first time in MONTHS and considered doing A swap...hmmm...I will stay posted to see how things go :)
ReplyDeleteI'm doing this swap too. I like your idea of saving out of order. I'm going to do that too!
