Snow Day Entertainment

Last week we were passing the flu around our house. This week we are snowed in. To pass the time we have been watching older cartoons and television programs that we have checked out on DVD from the library. It is so fun to introduce the boys to The Flinstones, Yogi Bear, Yakky Duck, Gilligan's Island, The Incredible Hulk, and others. It also brings into sharp contrast the decline in the quality of television. The things I remember from my own childhood (and the things from before my time that I got to enjoy seeing as reruns) were much kinder, cleaner, funnier shows than what is found on primetime now. We already know that there is no school tomorrow. Seth says that's a good thing because then we can see more Gilligan's Island. :)
