I have made this sandwich for supper a couple of times now and the whole family loves it! (I love it because it is quick and easy to put together). The original recipe came from a top secret recipes cookbook and was for an Applebee's grilled club sandwich. I have adapted it a bit to fit what we like to eat and what I had on hand.
For each sandwich:
Spread one side of a thick slice of bread or a steak roll with margarine and place margarine side down in a hot skillet.
Spread the side that is facing up with Miracle Whip (or if you are toasting steak rolls, toast the bottom roll first, then turn it over and spread the toasted side with the Miracle Whip).
Sprinkle on a little shredded cheddar cheese.
Place two or three slices each of thin sliced turkey and ham on the skillet to heat for a few seconds.
Place the turkey on the bread on top of the cheddar, pour a little honey barbecue sauce over the turkey and top with the ham.
Sprinkle on more shredded cheddar and top with the other slice of bread or top of the roll.
If using bread, spread the top side with some margarine and flip the sandwich over so the top side can toast.
We also liked these with a slice of crisp fried bacon and leaf lettuce on them.
I found that leftovers reheat well, so these are nice to have in the refrigerator for quick hot lunches during the week.
Man alive that sounds lovely! I must get that cookbook.

I looove your blog, I'll come back soon!!
I'm glad to know it!
It's funny, but when I read "sandwich" and "Applebee's" my subconscious mind immediately conjured up an image of a toasted pork and apple sandwich, which I now think I'll have to try... so perhaps not what this post inteded, but it has given me another idea for a sandwich. :)
